Dulaan Uul Uranium Exploration Area Environmental Baseline Survey for CoGe Gobi Co.Ltd/Areva, France, 2007

Since 1997, Cogegobi Mongolia Company and AREVA, France, have been exploring mineral resource deposits throughout Mongolia. One of them is a uranium resource and exploration project within the Dulaan Uul and Umnud license area in Dornogobi Aimag, Mongolia. The Dulaan Uul Project area is located in the south east Gobi Desert region of the country where extreme temperatures and low rainfall produce a harsh environment.. The Project area has environmental value due to shallow groundwater, pastures used by nomadic herders, and a number of threatened and endangered species that reside in the vicinity of the Project area.
Ecotrade completed comprehensive the Environmental and Social Baseline Survey in 2007 which covers all exploration areas.
