Orkhon Hydropower Plant EBS for MITSUI (Chubu Electrics) and Sumitomo Co.,Japan, 2000

Ecotrade completed Initial Environmental Examination for Dam site of Orkhon Hydropower Plant Project and watershed Areas in 2001. Proposed dam site Orhon-Ulaan Hunh located South East side of Erdenet city 90 km, North West of Ulaanbaatar with distance 250 km. Main capacity was estimated at 100 MB for Central Energy Network. The project area have in natural existence and peoples using as pasture and hayfields. Several historical sites and ancient irrigation channel were indicated in this area. The Project was proposed by MITSUI (Chubu Electrics) and SUMITOMO Corporation of Japan.
